Mr. Bill is hitting the crack pipe again

How else to explain this story where he says, "Vista's had an incredible reception," and "The reviews have been fantastic." Bill, I'm saying this as a friend. (Okay, not really.) You need to shave your head and get into rehab like Britney. And not that phony celebrity rehab; real rehab. Remember, the first step toward recovery is admitting you have a problem.

Me thinks BG is absolutely right. Lets analise what he says:

"Vista's had an incredible reception"
Indeed, incredible as in "barely believable". Especially considering what Vista is.

"The reviews have been fantastic"
Fantastic as in "based on fantasy, not real" (Merriam-Webster).

"This is a big, big advance in the Windows platform."
All things being equal...

"It's the world's most used piece of software…"
Used, as in "second-hand"?

"Overall, the reliability feedback has been well better than we expected."
Point is, they might have set the expectations very low.

QED.
Nothing out of the ordinary in these statements.

Poor, poor Mr Bill... Remember when the tsar of Russia was taken through fake little villages where everything looked fine? That's pretty much what happens today at MS. There's a whole team dedicated to creating some artificial reality bubble for Mr Bill - call it "Second Lie" or something. It's gonna be quite a shock when the bubble bursts.

You really must update your Reality Distortion Field to compete with this Dude's. Field strength must range in the megateslas.

Actually, I think it was Stalin that was led through the faux villages during the purge of the Kulaks. I think Uncle Joe and Bill would grok each other's wah.

Just like Vista, there is an incredible reception for my garbage man who is greeted with unfettered anticipation for the weekly roll-out as well.

Look out Steve, Bill has his own RDF now too! Except his is a Reality Denial Field and so far it looks like it just operates on himself and top MS execs.

Be careful if he ever learns how to extend it to non-MS personnel when you are around, your massively powerful positive RDF and his obviously powerful negative RDF might rip a hole in the space-time continuum...

Sorry, Russian history fans, it was Catherine the Great who went on tours of Russia and was mightily pleased by all the fine villages she saw - all of which were organized by Count Potemkin, which gave rise to a phrase still used today - a "Potemkin village" is a fake presentation. Sort of like a demo that only plays back screen shots rather than one which actually uses the software being "demonstrated". Not that I know anything about things like that.

"Incredible reception" probably just means that Vista sold in one week just about how Mac OS sells in a year. Nothing new, just business as usual.

Well, this sounds kinda flimsy. I thought Vista was flopping. Oh well he is trying to improve, lets just hope it doesn't end up like Windows ME

"The Wow starts now": Wow, this looks like a bad copy of Mac OS X! Great job!

Hey! Windows ME runs just fine on my Gateway at home! (I don't call it my little spam-bot for nothing)

If Vista is half the OS my precious ME is I'll buy two.
