Reader sent this in. It's really worth reading. The dude at Roughly Drafted says Sun's jPhone tech is like a sandwich store that only has a pickle, no sandwiches. Sad thing is that even when Scooter and MLP try to copy us they still churn out a butt-ugly version of what we're doing. See here.

Seriously, Sun's attempt is a joke.
1) When was the last time Sun launched a consumer product, much less a successful one?... ummm.. never...
2) ok so the interface is passable, what about content? Does it connect to itunes?.. um no.... what about outlook, entourage, etc? .. not sure.
3) When was the last time Sun negotiated distribution deals with operators?... prob never.
The whole "jPhone" announcement thing had me looking for the 4/1 release date.
So now, who will announce the kPhone?
Fast forward a few years for...

At least they didn't miss out on an icon in their interface. Good one Apple.
I notice that when I look at the picture with both designs, my eye is irresistably drawn to Apple's version.
I guess attention to detail is something you just can't fake.

Dear FSJ,
I think Daniel Eran's blog (roughlydrafted.com) is the best Apple blog on the web.
As a bonus, he's a take no prisoners type of guy, like yourself. Boy, does he wail away at M$! Beats them to a pulp. In fact, the microtards have been banned him at Digg!
The only difference is he's a lot smarter than you.
In fact, I think the real Steve Jobs is doing a Fake Daniel Eran blog.
One big thing Sun may do right that Apple has gotten spectacularly wrong is opening the jPhone up for third-party software development.
If Apple had introduced the Mac now, third-parties wouldn't be able to write apps for the damn thing, because Namaste Boy wants to own all the apps too.
Is FSJ Daniel Eran Dilger...?
