Mary Jo Foley, start your photocopier

Ace reporter Mary Jo Foley says Leopard looks like Vista. See here. Funny I seem to have seen that same sentiment expressed somewhere else recently.

So how are you gonna punish those ZDnet-tards for sending a Soccer-Mom-tard to cover WWDC 2007?

The post says she has 20 years of experience in tech coverage.. right.. I'll never read ZDnet again cause now I know they do zero research and know nothing about journalism whatsoever..

It was really a shocking article for "20 years of experience".... all I can chalk it up to is complete and total obliviousness of Apple all 20 of those years.

Or she just can't write.

Because what she said is sophmorically true... yes Leopard looks kinda like Vista, cuz Leopard is OS X and Vista is a copy of OS X...

Yes, now that Vista has copied OS X's look, Apple has not completely changed it just to be different. Just like the Mac didn't drop overlapping windows when Windows got them.

But a writer should understand implication, and she implied that Leopard is catching up to Vista when she's looking at features (like translucense) that go back to 10.0. It'll play in the corporate world too...

Really, FS, this is quite mockable. Let the ridicule continue for this Dvorak wannabe!

Hey Steve,

The Duchess of Douche wrote:

"The new Leopard Coverflow viewing capability looked almost identical to Vista’s Flip 3D to me."

Finder's Coverflow looks like Vista's Flip3D? Again, how? Flip3D is a failed attempt to bring an Exposé clone to Vista, and both Exposé and Coverflow have been around longer than Vista.

Or, to put the point another way: Coverflow-in-Leopard looks like something in Vista which was long predated by Coverflow-in-iTunes. So, how does this make Microsoft look innovative by comparison, *tard?

What a dumb, dumb cow!

Her bio says that she "has covered the tech industry for 20 years..." Just like Rip Van Winkle had been a woodsman for twenty years.

Oh my God. This woman is such an idiot.

"4. 64-bitness: Leopard is the first 64-bit only version of a desktop client. Vista comes in 32-bit and 64-bit varieties. And most expect Windows Seven will still be available in 32-bit flavors. Until 32-bit machines go away, it seems like a good idea to offer 32-bit operating systems."

Err... was she even paying attention during the Keynote?

"New Leopard Desktop: Not a whole lot different from Vista’s Aero and Sidebar."

Yeah. But you should have said: "aero and sidebar, not a whole lot different from Apple's Aqua and Dashboard from previous OS X versions."

"New Finder: Many of the same capabilities as the integrated “Instant Search” in Vista"

A'dah! The ignorance keeps going! Finder in Tiger is the same as instant search in vista. Finder in Leopard is even deeply connected to Time Machine (I really was impressed at that), Coverflow and the likes. That's like being 5 years ahead of Microtards.

I loved it when she said that time machine was similar to VSC. "But it seems to provide a lot of the same functionality."

Does Vista makes VSC? Yes it does. Is it simple. AH! Not really.
So good luck, with "VSC"!

"Dashboard with widgets. Isn’t this like the Vista Sidebar with gadgets?" A'doh! Tiger had it already!?!? And the widgets themselves? Vista has nothing like that. Cut and copy parts of html internet pages and turn them into widgets on a click?!? Frig me! Where's Vista counterpart on that?!?

And she totally blows it away when she says that windows is better 'cause "Until 32-bit machines go away, it seems like a good idea to offer 32-bit operating systems." She really thinks Leopard only works with 64 bits!!! How dumb is that?

"Spaces - I haven’t seen anything like in in Vista" Frig me! I have XP in my work and I have workspaces!! Course others didn't felt enthusiastic. They had already seen it in 2006.

"Core animation: Not sure what the Vista comparison is here."

Like there's not one? A'dah?! MS photo share wtf?!? Is that for real? And it's like a developer's tool, not a user's one, get it young girl?

Is this chick for real?

I think Mary Jo Foley looks a lot like Paul Thurrott. But what the fuck, I could be wrong.
