What are these two dudes from ZDNet supposed to be doing in this photo? Not sure but the smirk on the guy in back and the pained expression on the guy in front sort of make me wonder. Anyhoo, when they're not going for quiet walks on the beach or spending peaceful moments together they are keeping busy by hating on our new Apple keyboards. Money quote: "I don’t have a problem with Apple standardizing components to save costs, except when those components stink. And boy, do Apple’s new keyboards ever stink." Talk about catty. Meow.

I happen to love the new IMac keyboard. Sure its a little bit of form leading function but I have tried it out and find it to be a great feeling keyboard.
I just want to know what everyone would have been saying about it if Apple had shipped a keyboard that didn't match the new IMac as well as it does. To have a keyboard that was full of concave keys and clicks and buttons in odd places that ruined the shape and the lines of the keyboard would have been an eye sore.
The design of the new IMac clearly follows a tight philosophy of what good design is. Clean lines, simplicity of shape and an utter lack of anything extraneous. The keyboard could not have been any other way.
Those guys are just frigtards. The new Apple keyboards are great: one can type very rapidly with good feedback, and the short keystroke leads to reduced fatigue. Compared to the last generation of keyboards, these are an order of magnitude better.

Well I can't really comment on them since I'm avoiding getting one... because they don't work. You know, I don't care that you didn't mention the Mini refresh in your keynote. Understandable since the Mini's profile doesn't fit in with that anorexia theme you had going.
But christ, if you are going to sell this stuff it should at least work.
I personally like the new keyboards, they feel more like my MacBookPro's keyboard. However, we bought 7 new iMacs to replace some old G4 towers and all 7 users decided to keep their old keyboards after using them for a day. They are not big on the mighty mice either - 4 of 7 want their old scroll mice back.
I don't really care, I'll just have some very trendy replacement devices...

They look like they're giving eachother a reach-around in that picture, so why the bad vibes towards the new Apple keyboard?
